Wrapped in Warmth

I don’t often buy patterns, but when I saw this, I knew that it was one that I would use over and over. And I have! I am now making my 3rd shawl with this pattern and altering it a bit so that it will use less yarn. I will post pictures of that one soon (I hope). This was the first “Wrapped in Warmth” shawl by ELK Studio (found on ravelry) that I made. I used Isaac Mizrahi yarn and a 5mm hook.
These are pictures done by my  photographer friend. Just goes to show how important a good picture is to marketing your items! Thank you Christina from http://www.beeskneesphotographync.com for the wonderful photos! Please go check out her beautiful nature photography as well.

Sneak Peak-Crochet Cuff Bracelets Are Here!

ImageI have been making a variation of these cuff bracelets for just over a year now. I’ve done some pattern tweaking during that time and can honestly say that I love the way this last batch came out! I spent a good bit of time putting them in my etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/joyfulmamadesigns (click on the link to see all of my current colors) the other night and since then have made a couple of different styles (crochet wrap bracelets being my most recent endeavor). Until recently, my focus has been hats and winter items…but I must admit, I really like coming up with crochet jewelry 🙂Image

Fringe Infinity Scarf

Maybe I’ll get some better pictures to put up, but I surprised my daughter this morning with this new infinity scarf made from some leftover Lion Brand Homespun yarn. Such an easy project that I actually made 3 of these (2 for me!) yesterday while home with my son who is recovering from that nasty stomach bug.
The first one I made, I put the fringe on both sides of the scarf and fear it turned out a little more lion-like than I had hoped 😉 The next 2, I just added fringe to one side and actually love the way it turned out! Can’t wait to go get some vibrant colors to add to my collection.
Do you think it’s too late in the season to add these to my etsy shop?
